  • A collaborative effort between several southern Illinois police departments over the weekend resulted in the arrests of two men allegedly responsible for three August bank robberies in southern Illinois.
Jonathan W. Bohn, 33, of West Frankfort and Nicholas M. Hall, 37, of Tucson, Ariz., were apprehended Friday in West Frankfort in connection with the armed crimes.
After the Friday robbery of Banterra Bank in Marion, the West Frankfort Police Department set up surveillance and observed the two men near Bohn's West Frankfort residence.  A subsequent traffic stop resulted in the pair's arrest and the recovery of money stolen in the Marion robbery, which was found in the alleged robbers' vehicle.
As a result of the arrests, search warrants were issued and executed which resulted in the finding of clothes worn during the robberies, bank bags used to transport the stolen money and a small caliber Derringer pistol allegedly brandished at the scene of all three robberies.
According to a press release from West Frankfort Chief of Police Jeff Tharp, both Bohn and Hall were transported to Franklin County Jail and are being charged in accordance with the robberies.
