Morthland, a medical doctor, said that as a result of a meeting six weeks ago, it appears the issue will be on the agenda of the board’s meeting on October 5. Morthland made it clear that this could change between now and then. But it looks good right now. The outcome of that meeting could bear historic connotations from a local perspective. The most optimistic result would be them giving sanction and, “West Frankfort would become a college town!”
