State police say a driver's coughing fit caused him to crash his pickup into a home in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Police in Girard say 63-year-old Lewis Brewer, of East Springfield, wasn't hurt when his 2004 Ford Ranger hit the house in Springfield Township, Erie County, Saturday afternoon.

Police say Brewer told them he began to "cough uncontrollably" before his truck went into a ditch, traveled across a yard and hit the house.

Police didn't say how badly the house was damaged. Nobody inside was hurt.
