The two people killed by a house fire in Peoria are a mother and her adult son.
Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says 83-year-old Dorothy McDonald and her 65-year-old son, Stephen McDonald, died Tuesday.
Ingersoll says both were severely burned. Autopsies are scheduled.
Firefighters found Dorothy McDonald on the main floor of the single-story home after they were called to the fire at about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday. Her son was in the basement.
Peoria Fire Department Division Chief Greg Walters says the fire is under investigation but its cause doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
