The official groundbreaking for a $670 million Mississippi River bridge at St. Louis is now scheduled for April 19.
The new date was announced Thursday by Missouri and Illinois transportation officials.
Groundbreaking had been scheduled for Feb. 26, but was postponed because dignitaries from Washington were snowed in and couldn’t make it to St. Louis.
The four-lane bridge is expected to open by 2014 and carry about 40,000 vehicles a day.
Construction is being funded by a mix of state funds and $239 million in federal dollars.
